The American Cancer Society Discovery Shop Cashier
The 40 American Cancer Society Discovery Shops in California have raised funds and awareness for the fight against cancer.
Cashiers needed to ring up sales, assist customers, put new merchandise on selling floor, monitor dressing rooms.

Volunteers needed for food distribution to help sort food to be delivered across Contra Costa County.

Monument Crisis Center Volunteer
The Monument Crisis Center provides food, education, assistance, referrals to families and individuals in crisis situations, and promotes community awareness of needs and available resources to at-risk and low income people in Contra Costa County.
There are a variety of programs that meet the needs of our community and the goals of our organization. They include but are not limited to:
Food Distribution
The monthly food assistance we provide reduces the chances that a family will face hunger and malnutrition because they must first meet obligations for rent, medical care, or other expenses.
English
Basic ESL conversation classes with individualized instruction are offered at no cost to anyone who wishes to attend.
Senior Moments
Social gatherings and USDA Brown Bag assistance for seniors.
This program offers a friendly place for low income seniors to interact with other seniors and at the same time receive groceries and other services.
Tutoring
High School students mentor elementary and middle school children with their homework. In addition to mentoring: a healthy snack and educational activities are offered.

Sunrise Senior Living Volunteer
Sunrise is happy to welcome community groups, student organizations and seniors to share their talents and interests with our residents in various volunteer opportunities available at our communities.
Volunteers help to organize outings and activities, or just spend an afternoon spending time with our residents.

Loaves & Fishes of Contra Costa County
The organization is the largest provider of hot meals to the hungry in Contra Costa County, serving over 251,000 hot meals this fiscal year in five dining rooms.

CENTRAL KITCHEN VOLUNTEERS
The Central Kitchen in Pittsburg needs volunteers to assist our Head Chef prepares 1,400 meals every day. Shifts run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

The Gardens at Heather Farms
Garden Maintenance
Work outdoors each Wednesday morning maintaining several acres of demonstration gardens. No experience necessary. Join an active group who love potlucks, educational enrichment, and field trips to other gardens.

Help promote The Gardens’ mission to enrich the community by leading tours of the garden and attend local events to help promote our programs.
Propagation/Nursery
Work each Tuesday morning propagating plants for our garden and sales that take place each spring and fall. No experience necessary
Education Docent
Serve as a volunteer instructor leading natural science classes for local elementary students
Special Events
Assist with planning and promoting special events, greeting visitors and providing staffing on event days.
Make Blankets for Animal Shelters
Seeking volunteers to create handmade blankets to comfort homeless pets living in animal shelters. The blankets may be knit, crocheted, sewn, quilted or made with fleece material.

Trinity Center Volunteer
Trinity Center is a non-residential program serving homeless and working poor adult men and women in Walnut Creek and Central Contra Costa County
currently has several volunteer opportunities open and is actively developing more opportunities for you to participate in our mission. Habitat Restoration in Walnut Creek Open Space - Tuesdays
- We have ongoing projects at Bayberry Pond, Rock Oak, Indian Valley Pond, Deer Lake, and Fossil Hill. We do occasional work in other locations in the Open Space.
- We also have a native plant nursery where we propagate many of the plants we use in our restoration projects.
